Case Report #10 - Teenage Onset Female

Age of Onset: midteens

Initial symptoms: droopy eyelid, white patch of hair. Over time, the “droop” increased. Skin discoloration, en coup de sabre, the shape of one side of face changed (became more hollow) compared to the other and a cleft developed in chin.

Progressive symptoms over time: By age 29 initial disease symptoms had progressed especially during pregnancy with second child.

Medications/Procedures: corrective eye surgery in 2003

Ophthalmologist noted that left eye and socket appeared smaller than right.

Patient adds that diagnosis took about 2 months to receive after seeing a general practitioner and 2 neurologists.
