Case Report 13 - Female with Initial Symptoms age 10

Female with symptoms of Parry-Romberg Syndrome initial symptoms age 10

Age of onset:  10 years

Initial symptoms: Significant teeth problems; teeth with no roots, periodontal disease, missing teeth, overlapping teeth.

Progressive symptoms:   alopecia, petit mal seizures, hyper pigmentation under eye, neck right side of mouth, and forehead.  Three hyper pigmented lines down forehead.  Atrophy appears on right cheek, right side of nose, and neck.  Patient also has thinned eyebrows, missing eyelashes, tight skin, severe migraines, trigeminal neuralgia, TMJ, and bipolar disorder.

Medications/Procedures:  Takes pain medicine when needed.

Other significant information:  A diagnosis was not made until age 17.  Photos presented are at age 18.  Patient monitors her progression through weekly pictures and is involved with a research team through NIH.
