Case Report 8 - Female Child with Initial Symptoms Age 4

Case Report #8 of Parry Romberg SyndromeInitial Symptoms:  pupil of right eye extremely dilated and at times fixed, heterochromy (change in the coloration of the iris) and immediately after that iridozyclitis.

Progressive Symptoms:  Within a year of initial symptoms, right upper lip diminished to half size, with an indentation present in middle of lip-bow and fading out of lip tissue extending to the corner of the mouth.  Dark spots temporarily appeared on right jaw joint.  Patient has lost significant soft tissue on entire right cheek with indentation appearing in front of ear and jaw joint visible through skin.

Medications:  Progression of disease appears to have ceased since beginning methotrexate, Jan. 2007. Cortisone treatment for eye was beneficial but has not been necessary since starting methotrexate therapy.

Parent adds that the father suffers from *granuloma anulare* and that familiary rheumatologic relationship with Parry-Romberg Syndrome may be a connection worthy of exploration.
