Parry-Romberg Syndrome Case - 7 year old male with progression to age 16Possible Familial Link

Initial Symptoms: At 7 years of age, head was injured in fall from bicycle resulting in scraped left cheek and stitches to forehead. Approximately 6 months later, left side of face became thinner and teeth on affected side developed very shallow roots.

Progressive Symptoms: Left cheek has bruised appearance, atrophy of soft tissue, and cheek bones have thinned considerably.

Medications/Procedures: Sculptra and fat injections with temporary results.
Coral implant to bone of left cheek scheduled in near future. 11/2009

Father of child has recently shown signs of deep groove down one side of face and shrinking of same side of face after having teeth extracted for dentures.
