Dear Friends,

As we welcome in the fall season, the changes are definitely in the air.  Parry-Romberg Syndrome Resource, Inc. wants to thank all of our Golf Event sponsors and those who participated in the planned Sept. 24 outing.  This event helped raise funds that are extremely important to the operation for the 2010 year.

We are pleased to add a support article to our website written by Dr. Thomas Lehman.  Dr. Lehman is Chief, Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and Professor of Clinical Pediatrics, Cornell University Medical College. His experience with pediatric rheumatology provides an in depth resource of knowledge encompassing the physical, psychological, and social issues patients and families struggle with.

Producers of Mystery Diagnosis, a Discovery Health program have informed us that an episode detailing the initial symptoms and progression of Parry-Romberg Syndrome in an 18 year old female patient will be aired in the new season later this year.  We will make the date known as soon as we have this information.  We were pleased to assist the producers of Mystery Diagnosis with PRS information and locating a suitable patient for the show.

As we continue our efforts to inform patients, the public, and the medical community about PRS, we would like to thank those who have supported us with their wisdom, time, and financial backing.  Our organization is operated through volunteer efforts.  We are very grateful to our Board of Directors, family, the Romberg Connection, and patients who assist us in our mission.

Sincerely,

Crystal McDowell
